The Seven Magical Jewels of Ireland

Book Two of the Castaways in Time Series

By Robert Adams

Bass had sworn to fight for King Arthur—but against knights and pirates, not an enemy from the future!

Time trap!

Drawn through a hole in time and space, twentieth-century American Bass Foster finds himself hailed as a noble warrior and chosen to command—first on land and then at sea—the armies fighting to preserve King Arthur III and his realm against the Church—led forces determined to place Arthur's nephew on the throne of England.

But Bass is not the only traveler in time. And though the mysterious force which has exiled him to this land of knights in shining armor has brought other unexpected comrades-in-arms, it has also opened the gateway to a far future time and place. And suddenly, Bass, Arthur, and their allies must face the menace of an unknown but deadly enemy seeking not only to overthrow Arthur's kingdom but to conquer and enslave their whole world.

Excerpt

Black darkness enveloped them...

Then, just as unexpectedly, the too-bright green light returned, and by its light Bass could see a tall, slender figure standing on the silvery disc.

Slowly, the figure turned toward Bass and his men, stood for a moment staring at them while its lips moved soundlessly, then, raising and pointing a slightly belled length of metal ahead, it stepped off the disc and strode toward Bass.

He cursed himself for not bringing a pistol with him. His men might not recognize the thing being pointed as a deadly weapon, but he certainly did. It was probably one of those things called a heat-stunner, and here he was with only a sword and a couple of daggers. Nonetheless, he drew his Tara-steel sword and stepped out to meet this dangerous stranger with his weapon at low-guard.

As he began to move, the stranger called out: "Drop that sword, man, or I'll kill you!"
