Melanie Nilles grew up on a western North Dakota cattle ranch and farm. Along with her interest in horses, she always had a fascination with science fiction and fantasy. After high school, she continued her education and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

She currently resides in central North Dakota with her husband and kids. In her spare time, she enjoys training her horses for dressage and hunter or just riding for pleasure. Her published works include the Legend of the White Dragon series and Dark Angel. She continues to write with a passion for science fiction and fantasy.
