With The Henge Betrayed—Flight, Janet Lane Walters returns to the genre of her first short story sale. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa, she has lived in Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and has now settled in the scenic Hudson River valley. She lives with her psychiatrist husband who has no desire to cure her obsession with writing. The mother of four, two sons and two daughters -- the youngest is an adopted biracial child. She has five grandchildren, four biracial and the youngest from China.

Reading has always been her passion and this transmuted into writing when she lived in a small town where the library has a sparse selection of books. She sold her first short story in 1968 and sold a dozen more before rejections began to read, "This sounds like the synopsis for a novel." She moved on to novel writing and other than a brief flirtation with poetry, she has continued to write novels. At present, she has published 23 novels in mystery, suspense, romance, fantasy and young adult fantasy. She co-authored the EPPIE winner Becoming Your Own Critique Partner with Jane Toombs. She has several other non-fiction books.
